The Seasons

May to June

Lingcod are apex predators of reefs, kelp beds, and shoals. Limiting harvest to fish 26” to 36” ensures that the larger females have a good spawn each year.

It’s not uncommon for large lingcod to grab a hooked fish and not let go. In the past, these fish, known as ‘hitchhikers,’ were easily gaffed due to their reluctance to let go. If a lingcod wants your bait, they’ll get it.

Sea to table

Rockfish coming back

It’s important to fish in ways that don’t harm the species we are working to bring back. Targeting lingcod in shallow water make the return of these fish safe.

Cabezon

“Pig Heads” are the most underrated food fish in the sea. While their roe is poisonous, and their flesh is slightly green, the meaty quality makes them the best fish and chips you will ever eat!

May and June

Cooked three minutes per side over fire, these creatures will change your life.

Shrimp

Twenty-mile boat ride, 250 feet of water, three to five knot currents, 400 feet of line—delectable results!
